Theuniskraal Riesling

Wine information: One of Distell’s premier estate labels, Theuniskraal dates back to the 18th century. Theuniskraal’s Riesling was the very first estate white wine in South Africa and has a tradition that extends over 50 years. Situated in Tulbagh’s Winterhoek Mountains, at the north-west end of the Tulbagh Valley, Theuniskraal is run by the fourth generation Jordaan brothers, whose family acquired the farm in 1927. The wines are made by Andries Jordaan. The Riesling has been the flagship of the estate for more that half a century, and is still a top seller. Fresh, lively and bone-dry, with subtle grassy hints and fruit flavours, this is a deliciously refreshing wine, ideal for everyday enjoyment. Crisp and fresh with peach and fresh apple. It is an ideal companion to most salad, fish, poultry and pasta dishes and stands up well to soft cheeses.
