Wine information:
The Guntrum Estate, established 1948, is now in the hands of the 11th generation of the Guntrum family and includes some of the best vineyard sites in Nierstein and Oppenheim. The Rehbach vineyard (literally meaning Deer Creek) is situated on red sandstone porphyry / slate, which is unique to Nierstein's best vineyards. This wine is a spatlese, a late harvested wine - late picked grapes to obtain flavours of very ripe and mature character. This wine shows typical riesling characteristics, there are aromas of citrus and green apple, ripe peaches and it has very good well-balanced acidity. This wine would be best served with fish, white meat and poultry dishes.
