Notes - The Paul Anheuser wine estate is part of a long family tradition that dates back to the 30 Year War (1618-1648). In 1627, a vintner named "Anheuser" is known to have been a citizen of Bad Kreuznach. In 1842, two brothers of the 10th family generation emigrated to America. One of the brothers, Eberhard Anheuser, founded a brewery in St. Louis, Missouri, which later became Anheuser-Busch, the largest brewery in the world today.
