Wine information:
Giacomo and Sandro Candido's range is perhaps the most diverse and innovative to be found in Puglia, yet the wines continue to offer unbeatable value for money. The climate is mediterranean with low rainfall and ripening takes place slowly due to the striking contrast between day and night-time temperatures, resulting in a strong development of aromas, richness and concentration. This historic old, family owned property continues to improve under the guiding hand of one of Italy’s top winemakers, Donato Lanati. A semi-aromatic wine with an aroma pleasantly reminiscent of Muscat. Broad, rich, penetrating and showing maturity on the nose. Crimson in colour developing hints of amber with maturity. Rich, medium sweet with a good acid backbone, velvety and delicious. A very powerful wine, it stands up well to very mature, strongly flavoured cheeses, dry pastries, almond and chestnut paste and roasted almonds.
