Tasting Notes: There are aromas of passion fruit, lychee and redcurrant. The quartzite soil has a large influence which is evident in the strong mineral structure of the wine. The minerality gives an elegance and depth that is contrasted with a strong ripe fruit contents, acidity and low residual sugar.
Reviews: Jancis Robinson calls Johannes Leitz "one of the absolute superstars, not just of the Rheingau, but of German wine" A fine, fine confectionery and greengage fruit quality, with a very tight, racy style, and lots of poise and finesse. Delightful acidity here, with lovely elegance, a peach-down softness and sweetness, and just beautiful poise and length. There is a persistent minerality, but elegantly behind the sweet, composed fruit.
