Jurançon is a wine region in the South-West of France near the town of Pau in the Pyrenees. Vines grown here are traditional varieties such as Petit Manseng, Grand Manseng, Lauzet and Courbu. All of the wine production is white. Dry Jurançon accounts for about three quarters of the total wine production in Jurançon. However, it is more famous for its sweet, late-harvested dessert wines. These dessert wines have aromas of tropical fruits, honey and roasted nuts and can be extremely long-lived wines. Domaine Cauhapé's are among the best.
