The three main wine regions in Provence are Bandol, Bellet and Cotes de Provence. Among the red varieties of grape used are Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache and Mourvèdre. The white varieties are mainly Ugni, Clairette, and Rolle. Rosé wines are the speciality of the region. They tend to be dry and fruity and are perfect as apéritifs or with any Mediterranean cuisine, including seafood and salads. Domaines Ott is one of the most prestigious producers in the region and their Chateau de Selle is considered to be one of the very best rosés (it is actually made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon).
