As anyone who follows Vintage Port will know, 2015 was a good vintage, a handful of Port houses declared a main vintage, but it was nowhere near a general declaration. This is mainly because Port Houses do not generally like to release two vintage Ports in adjacent years and most are holding back for the very good 2016 vintage. However, there are still some stunning Vintage and Single Quinta Vintage Ports released that will be excellent for drinking in about 10 to 15 years time. As Port expert James Suckling says in his 2015 vintage report, “It looks like 2015 port is the great vintage that never was.”
We are very lucky to have some barrel samples, 8 different Ports in total, which we will be trying next week and would also like to invite anyone else who is interested in purchasing any of these Ports to come and try them too.
We have Ports from the Symington Family, Ramos Pinto, Niepoort and Quinta do Vale Meao – see the full list below.
If you can’t attend the tasting the “en primeur” offer prices will be held open until Friday 28th July 2017 and the Port can be purchased online or over the telephone.
2015 Vintage Port “En Primeur” Tasting
6.45 pm prompt start, Tuesday 25th July 2017
At Fareham Wine Cellar
RSVP as soon as possible if you wish to attend. The tasting should take around 45 minutes.
We are very limited for numbers as we only have half-bottle samples. Numbers are therefore limited to just 12 people on a first come, first served basis.
Telephone 01329 822733 or email [email protected]
If you have any questions please do not hesitate ask.
2015 Vintage Port “En Primeur” Prices
We are offering these en primeur prices for attendees of the tasting but if you can’t attend and wish to purchase some, we will be holding the prices open until the Friday 28th July 2017. Please telephone, email or order online.
Prices include UK duty and VAT.
Ports will be shipped to the UK later this year and at different times depending on the Port House. Niepoort Bioma will be shipped in Spring 2018, as it is aged longer in cask.
We are offering the Ports as single bottles (a great opportunity if you don’t want a case) and by the case. These are packed in wooden 6 boxes, except where noted (Graham’s Stone Terraces, Niepoort Bioma and Ramos Pinto).
Some of these are quite limited, so this is strictly on a first come, first served basis.
