Great article and publicity for Katie Jones and Domaine Jones in the Daily Telegraph by Suzy Atkins. Originally in Daily Telegraph Stella Magazine section 08/07/13. Fareham wine cellar gets a mention as the only supplier with any Domaine Jones Blanc left in the UK after the recent act of vandalism at Katie’s winery saw all of her 2012 white wine drain away.
Press review – “Made from fashionable grenache gris, this is full but dry with tinned peach, melon and angelica flavours, and a touch of clove. Delicious lightly chilled with cold chicken or fresh salmon.” Suzy Atkins. Read the full article here: Wine Review: Domaine Jones – Telegraph
The Blanc is a fantastic wine, it is fresh, mineral and elegant with an intense and richly fruited nose with notes of melon and pear, as well as herb and spice notes. The palate is textured and broad with rich melon and herbs flavours.
Of course, we also stock Domaine Jones Rouge and Fitou as well, not just the fantastic Blanc which is 100% Grenache Gris. The Rouge is a blend of 95% Grenache and 5% Carignan and is a warm rich wine, full of red fruit and garrigue notes backed up with Jones’ characteristic minerality and purity. The Fitou is a blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah and is characterised by much more black fruit and pencil box aromas and flavours with a fine, persistent finish with grippy tannins and nice acidity.
