Asbach Privatbrand 8 Year Old German Brandy is a composition of the finest single distillates, the youngest of which is at least 8 years old.
Asbach is one of Germany’s most famous brands. Asbach history goes back to the year 1892, when company founder Hugo Asbach left his adopted home country France and made his dream of an own company come true in Rüdesheim on the romantic Rhein. He had previously acquired a high degree of know-how of distilling wines from renowned French distillers, and he made use of this knowledge to achieve an ambitious goal: to create a product equal to French cognacs and at the same time to cater to German tastes. To day the company is a subsidiary of Underberg AG, which also makes the famous herbal digestif, other spirits and chocolate. The Asbach range of brandies consists of the Asbach Uralt (previously known as Asbach 3 Year Old), this 8 year old, a 15 year old and a 21 year old.
Asbach Privatbrand owes its unique and incomparably smooth taste to the distillation of selected wines only from the best wine-growing areas. Its full-bodied, mellow taste and distinctive amber colour make it a truly unique experience. For the Asbach Privatbrand 8 Year Old German Brandy the distillates are matured in small limousine oak barrels and later on in bigger casks of German oak. Finally, after the marriage of the single distillates, the cuvée is ennobled by the secret Asbach maturing and refining process.
