Baron Philippe de Rothschild Mouton Cadet Reserve Sauternes is a blend of Sémillon which gives roundness and refinement to the wine, Sauvignon Blanc giving fresh aromas and fruit and Muscadelle which gives aromatic character.

Mouton Cadet is widely considered to be one Bordeaux’s most successful wine brands and was created in 1934.  It was one of the biggest brands in the UK and USA throughout the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. It is, perhaps, not so popular as a brand in the UK but it is still a well known as a prestige brand in many wine markets and the wines are still of very good quality. Philippe Sereys de Rothschild succeeded his mother, the Baroness, as Chair of the Supervisory Board in September 2014 then became Chairman and CEO of the family company in April 2018. The 2016 Baron Philippe de Rothschild Mouton Cadet Reserve Sauternes  is 88% Semillon, 10% Sauvignon Blanc and 2% Muscadelle.
