Briottet Creme de Noisette is a colourless hazelnut liqueur made in Dijon, France.

Maison Briottet is a family business, founded in 1836, and has been run by the 6th generation of the Briottet family, Claire and Vincent, since 2014. The Maison is located in the centre of the town of Dijon in the Burgundy wine-growing region. Originally, the family were negociants of Burgundy wine, involved with ageing, blending, bottling and selling the wines. Following the development, and massive popularity of the Blanc Cassis Aperitif (white wine with Crème de Cassis also known as a Kir), in the 1900s, the company progressively focused its activities on producing fruit crèmes, liquors, brandies and Marcs de Bourgogne.

Maison Briottet maintains a very high level of quality. It is the selection of the ripest fruit, locally sourced where possible, from the most suitable cultivars that provides for the finest flavours. The first step on the ladder in the process is contracting the right growers to produce the finest, best quality, ripe fruit. Then, at the headquarters, the fruits undergo carefully observed maceration with very pure neutral alcohol and blending with the correct proportion of sugars to achieve the balance between fruit flavour, sweetness, acidity and alcohol to create top of the range crèmes and liqueurs.

In prehistoric times hazelnut trees grew in thickets throughout Asia Minor. The Turks were the first to cultivate them. This spread to Greece and Italy and over the centuries this fruit spread to other parts of the world with the Roman Empire.

Briottet Creme de Noisette is a good alternative to Frangelico.

Tasting Notes

Briottet Creme de Noisette has a distinct aroma of roasted hazelnuts, with subtle hints of vanilla. On the palate, it has a rich, nutty flavour. The sweetness is well-balanced, with a smooth finish that lingers on the tongue. The liqueur has a medium-bodied mouthfeel and a warming sensation.

To Serve

Perfect for sipping on its own, as an after-dinner drink or adding to cocktails for a nutty twist. Its nutty flavor pairs well with coffee, chocolate, and cream-based drinks, making it a versatile ingredient in mixology.

Hazelnut Martini


  • 5 cl vodka
  • 2 cl Briottet Crème de Noisette
  • 1 cl simple syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Roasted hazelnuts (optional)


  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Add the vodka, Briottet Crème de Noisette, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  3. Shake well for about 10 seconds.
  4. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
  5. Garnish with a roasted hazelnut
