Briottet Curacao Orange is an orange flavoured liqueur made by Edmond Briottet in Dijon, France.

Maison Briottet is a family business, founded in 1836. Originally, the family were primarily negociants of Burgundy wine, involved with ageing, blending, bottling and selling the wines. Following the development of the blanc cassis aperitif (white wine with Crème de Cassis), the company progressively focused its activities on producing fruit crèmes, liquors, brandies and marcs de Bourgogne. The current managing director, Gérard Briottet, represents the fourth generation, and maintains the tradition started by his great grandfather, Edmond Briottet. Curacao take its name from the the island of Curacao off the Venezuelan coast where the Spanish used to cultivate Valencia oranges following their arrival from Europe. Due to the dry climate, the fruit produced was not good-eating, very bitter and became known as a different variety and name, the Lahara orange.

Briottet Orange Curacao is an orange-coloured liqueur obtained from the double distillation of bitter orange zest, Seville orange peel and other aromatics (some secret spices) which is then sweetened with sugar. It is sweeter and not as alcoholic as Briottet’s Curacao Triple Sec (although at 35% it is stronger than a lot of orange curacao).
