Castello della Rosa Pinot Grigio is an IGP Vigneti delle Dolomiti (Indicazione Geografica Protetta) wine from the Trentino wine growing region located in the far north east of Italy.
Castello della Rosa Pinot Grigio is produced by Orion Wines, a company created to bring together interesting wines from small growers and wineries from all over Italy. The company was created by Luca Pomaro and winemaker Alessandro Michelon and Orion Wines retains complete control over the vineyards and growers they work with. The idea is to produce wines from indigenous grapes that express the typicity of the particular region where they are grown.
The 100% Pinot Grigio grapes for this wine are sourced from selected south-facing vineyards on the western bank of the Valle dell’Adige northernmost region of Trentino. The vineyards sit at an altitude of 350 to 400 meters above sea level. The vines have an average age of 15 years old. Harvest is by hand and the grapes are de-stemmed and delicately pressed. The must is then chilled to 12°C and left to rest for approximately 18 hours. Fermentation is carried out using selected yeasts at a controlled temperature of 16 to 18°C. The wine is then left on its lees in stainless steel tanks for approximately four months in order to maximize extraction of complex aromas.

Castello della Rosa Pinot Grigio has a lovely straw colour with slight hues of green. The bouquet offers delicious aromas of citrus fruit, peaches and honeysuckle. The palate is crisp, lively and complex, with a pleasant acidity and sensations of lime, melon and pears which lead to an persistent and elegant and lingering finish.
