Description

Champagne Moet et Chandon Brut Imperial is one of the most famous Champagnes in the world and remains the number one best selling non-vintage blend.

Moet et Chandon was founded in 1743 and has been making Champagne ever since. The quality of the wines gives full expression to the richness and diversity of the fabulous vineyards, the largest and most prestigious estate in the whole of Champagne, made up almost exclusively of Premiers Crus and Grands Crus. Moët & Chandon merged with Hennessy Cognac in 1971 and with Louis Vuitton in 1987 to become LVMH, the largest luxury group in the world. Moët & Chandon holds a Royal Warrant as supplier of champagne to Queen Elizabeth II. Brut Imperial was introduced in the 1860s. Champagne Moet et Chandon Brut Imperial is a blend of over 100 differnet wines, of which approximately 20 to 30% are reserve wines added to enhance complexity and consistency to this multi-vintage blend. Moet et Chandon Brut Imperial NV is a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 35% Pinot Meunier and 25% Chardonnay. In 2011 Moet et Chandon lowered the dosage for Brut Imperial from 12 to 9 g/L in line with the global trend towards adding less sugar Champagne i.e. producing drier Cuvées.
