Chase English Rhubarb Vodka is a particularly scrumptious English flavoured vodka. It is made at the Chase Distillery which is located on a farm some 30 miles north west of Cheltenham in Herefordshire. All of the potatoes and apples used in the production of Chase Vodka and Gin are grown at the farm. The first Chase Vodka was made in April 2008.
Chase Vodka is made in a unique, hand-crafted copper batch pot still which allows much more control over the distillation process than larger, industrial operations have. Chase Distillery only uses traditional artisan methods using bespoke copper batch pot and unique 70 foot rectification column (the tallest in Europe) to give really pure vodka that is beautifully smooth and has a naturally sweet and creamy taste.
Chase English Rhubarb Vodka is made by slowly cooking Herefordshire rhubarb and then marinading it in Chase Original Vodka (which has been distilled three times). After the marinating period the resultant spirit is then distilled for a fourth time. The resulting vodka then has macerated fresh rhubarb added to it to give it more rhubarb character. The vodka is then filtered but the rhubarb leaves behind a gentle, natural pink colour. Made without any heating processes or artificial ingredients.
Chase English Rhubarb Vodka is great served neat, cold from the freeze or over ice or in cocktails. A dash of Chase English Rhubarb Vodka added to Champagne or sparkling wine makes a fantastic Champagne cocktail – garnish with a vanilla pod. Alternatively take one measure of the vodka over ice in a highball glass and top up with 50/50 ginger beer and tonic water and garnish with a slice of lemon or lime and a sprig of mint.
Chase English Rhubarb Vodka has aromas natural, fresh rhubarb, with a hint of vanilla / custard on the nose with more, natural, sweet rhubarb flavours on the palate. Think rhubarb and custard.
