Dolin Vermouth de Chambery is produced in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of Southeastern France. It is made by the maceration of no less than 15 Alpine plants, flowers and spices in white wine.
Dolin Vermouths were first produced in the 1820s and draw their inspirations from local ingredients from the nearby Alps. Only two families have been at the helm of the Dolin company in 200 years: the Chavasse/Dolin family and the Sevez family, both very much involved in local Chambéry life, rooted in the local area and faithful to its traditions. Dolin has always preferred to work with local plant growers, helping them to grow certain wild alpine plants under threat such as genepi and vulnerary.
Dolin Vermouth de Chambéry is made of wine (white wine made from Ugni Blanc) immersed in botanicals from the Alpine meadows above Chambéry. It is a made from a unique blend of 15 botanicals including Absinthe, brooklime, rose and orange bark are the best-known ones, but you can also taste verbena or yellow genepi. Slightly sweet, this dry vermouth is particularly appreciated by bartenders for its subtlety and elegance. You can of course also enjoy this Dolin dry vermouth as an aperitif, neat or on the rocks.
Dolin Vermouth de Chambery has a a gentle sweetness, with tropical, almost lychee, flavours. This gives way to drier, herbal notes, and a bitter clove finish.
