Katie Jones is an English wine maker in the South of France and this is an introduction to her fantastic wines.

This 6 bottle selection includes two bottles of white wine, the Domaine Jones Grenach Gris, and a selection of red wines, all from Katie’s estate. Brilliant Southern French wines and an excellent present for anyone with the surname Jones!

White Wines

2 bottles Domaine Jones Vieille Vignes Grenache Gris

Dry white wine with great minerality. It has an intense and richly fruited nose with notes of spring flowers, almond blossom, melon and pear, as well as fennel, herb and spice notes. The palate is textured and broad with rich melon and herbs.

Red Wines

2 bottles Domaine Jones Grenache Noir, IGP Cotes Catalanes

Full-bodied red with rich and soft brambly fruit that is also delightfully pure and fresh thanks to minimal use of oak. There is lots of succulent, ripe, red and black fruit character (strawberries and raspberries) with a savoury, damson-y acidity, hints of black pepper spice, silky textured tannins and a lightness of touch that makes this red moreish-ly drinkable.

1 bottle Domaine Jones Vieilles Vignes Fitou

Dense dark red / purple colour. The nose is full of aromas of dark fruits, hints of strawberry, blackberry confit, spicy, peppery notes and hints of anise. Leading onto the palate there are flavours of cherries, cherry stones, dark fruit and pencil boxes with an almost jammy, but dry, finish. There are also herbaceous and liquorice nuances. The finish is persistant with grippy tannins and good acidity. Good length.

1 bottle Along Came Jones Lledoner Pelut Hairy Grenache

Juicy, sumptuous and seamless, with black cherry, elderberry and damson fruit and a refreshing twist of sloe on the finish.
