Doorlys 8 year old Rum is a new addition to this fantastic range of rums made by by R L Seale & Co. RL Seale is one of Barbados’ oldest trading houses, a family-owned business whose involvement in rum-making extends from father-to-son since 1820.
Owner and head distiller, Richard Seale, is one of the region’s most innovative distillers and blenders and has a passion for producing perfect rum with great flavour. One of the family brands was called Martin Doorly which eventually evolved into Doorlys Macaw Rum. The rum is made The Foursquare Distillery occupies the site of a former sugar factory that dates back to 1636 and, as one of the most modern and efficient rum distilleries in the world. Today the Doorlys range of rums features a different species of Macaw on each of the different ages of rum.
Doorlys 8 Year Old Rum is made from distilled fermented molasses (from a combination of pot and column stills) which are then aged for a mimimum of 8 years in oak ex-Bourbon barrels.
