Errazuriz Aconcagua Costa Chardonnay is single vineyard, 100% Chardonnay sourced from a vineyard in the Aconcagua Valley located barely 7.5 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The vineyard was planted by Errazuriz in 2005 and 2009. The climate is Mediterranean , acquiring cold weather conditions thanks to its proximity
to the sea. The soil has a thin layer of loamy texture and placed on a base of clay and metamorphic rock (slate/schist), providing the mineral notes present in the wines that are grown in these vineyards.
The grapes for Errazuriz Aconcagua Costa Chardonnay are hand-picked in the early morning and transported to the winery when still cool. The whole clusters are then gently crushed, the must is decanted in to stainless steel vats for clarity before the juice is fermented in French oak barrrels (5% new) using only native yeasts. Fermentation is temperature controlled and around 50% of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. Errazuriz Aconcagua Costa Chardonnay is aged for 11 months.
