Cantine Florio Targa Riserva 1840 is a Marsala Superiore Riserva Semisecco produced by Cantine Florio in Sicily.

Marsala is a DOC wine made in the province of Trapani in Sicily. Cantine Florio has a long history and can trace its beginnings back to 1833 when Vincenzo Florio built his famous wine cellars. To make Marsala after carefully selection at harvest, grapes are pressed. The resulting must is left to ferment. Once the fermentation is completed, a very robust and full-bodied base wine is obtained. The next step is to add grape alcohol to the base wine to increase its alcoholic strength.

Florio Targa Superiore Riserva Marsala is made from selected Grillo grapes and is aged for at seven years in Slavonian oak cask which helps produce a smooth, wine and soft wine. Semisecco means that the wine is semi-dry.

It is sweeter than it stablemate, the Florio Terre Arse.
