1 x Wight Mermaids Gin 42% ABV 5cl
The Isle of Wight Distillery’s Original Gin, created to reflect a sense of place by using carefully selected local ingredients and botanicals. The botanicals include, Juniper Berries, Rock Samphire, VBG Boudicea Hops, English Coriander Seed, Fresh Lemon Zest, Angelica Root, Liquorice Root, Grains of Paradise, Orris Root and Elderflower.
1 x HMS Victory Navy Strength Gin 57% ABV 5cl
Made in partnership with the and under license, with The National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth. It is the same gin as the Mermaids gin but being bottled at Navy Strenght means that there is a higher concentration of botanicals resulting in a much more intense flavour.
1 x Rock Sea Vodka 40% 5cl
Inspired by the Isle of Wight’s fresh sea air, and that hint of saltiness on your lips after a day on the water. This is a grain vodka with the subtle addition of sea salt. Handcrafted in the distillery’s column still, filtered and then blended with Isle of Wight spring water in small batches. Perfect as a base for cocktails and also excellent neat, straight from the freezer.
The Isle of Wight Distillery was founded by a winemaker and a brewer who had long thought about making a gin. Conrad Gauntlet started growing vines and making wine at Rosemary vineyard in 1985 and, with over 30 acres of vineyards, is one of the largest wine producers on the Isle of Wight. Xavier Baker has been brewing beer since 1995 and first cut his teeth at the Ventnor Brewery and, after a couple of detours in whisky (Ireland and Scotland), setting up the Isle of Wight Meadery, he eventually arrived at Goddard’s Brewery near Ryde. The pair soon met and a plan to produce Gin was conceived. As of Autumn 2017 they are the holders of the first and only distilling license that has been granted to the Isle of Wight Distillery.
