La Diablada Pisco is a Peruvian Pisco, a grape brandy, made by Maccha Pisco. La Diablada Pisco is the company’s super-premium Pisco and is made in the “Ancholado” style. An Ancholado Pisco in simply one that is made from a blend of grapes rather than the single grape variety or “Puro Style”. In this case it is made from a blend of aromatic and non-aromatic grapes.
Maccha Pisco was founded in 2006 by Melanie Asher and her sister Lizzie with the main intention if bringing quality Peruvian Pisco to the United States, Europe and elsewhere. La Diablada Pisco is made from a first pressing of Quebranta, Moscatel, Italia and Torontel grapes. Each grape variety is distilled separately in e spirit is distilled in copper pot stills according to the traditional method and only the heart of the distillate is used. The Quebranta grapes give the Pisco fantastic body and aroma. Free of added sugar, enzymes, yeast or water, this all natural spirit is rested for a minimum of 1 year before it is bottled. 7kgs of grapes are required to make 1 litre of spirit.
La Diablada is named after an Andean spiritual dance enacting a fight between angels and demons.
