Description

Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages Combe Aux Jacques presented in 37.5cl half bottles.

Louis Jadot is one of the largest and most famous wine producers and negociants in the Burgundy wine-growing region. The origins of the company date back to 1859 when the business was fouded by Louis Henry Denis Jadot. Over time the company has acquired plots of vines is some of the most prestigious vineyards in the region including Beaune Clos des Ursules, Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Savigny Les Beaune and many more. Louis Jadot owns or directly controls 120 ha in the Côte d’Or, including over 90 individual vineyard sites, 84ha in the Beaujolais Crus and 18ha in the Mâconnais primarily in Pouilly Fuissé. Today the business is headed by Pierre-Henry Gagey, son of André Gagey, who was entrusted with the management of Louis Jadot in 1962 by Madame Jadot following the tragic death of her son.

100 Gamay grapes are  sourced from the Beaujolais wine-growing regions of Lantigné, Lancié and Regnié, where the best Beaujolais Villages are situated, which have a typical granite based soil. In 1998 Louis Jadot opened their Combe aux Jacques Winery, near the village of Brouilly, and they are the only negociant buying grapes and vinifiying them independently which allows them a high degree ot quality control over their wines.

Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages Combe Aux Jacques is vinified in the same manner as other Beaujolais wines with a semi carbonic maceration. This is 100% Gamay and undergoes 14 days maceration, this long maceration allows a good extraction.

Food Pairing

Drink with Grilled and Roasted Red Meats. Perfect with paté, charcuterie and lots of crusty French bread.

Tasting Notes

Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages Combe Aux Jacques has a good structure and will therefore be able to age several years. This should be drunk quite cool in order to protect the delicious aromas of fruits and the delicate freshness which is the signature of this wine.
