Description
Louis Latour Beaune Blanc is 100% Chardonnay sourced from vineyards located around the town of Beaune.
The Latour family have long been established in Burgundy’s wine trade. They began as vine growers in the village of Aloxe-Corton as early as 1768 and went on to establish today’s business, Maison Louis Latour, in 1797. Today they are one of the region’s most famous wine producers.
Beaune Blanc is a relatively little known wine and white wine accounts for only 5% of the total production in the Beaune appellation. The grapes are sourced from gently sloping hillside overlooking the ancient walled town of Beaune and the soils in this region are made up of chalk and limestone which suits Chardonnay well. The unique terroir and traditional oak cask ageing produce a wine with an elegant bouquet, which is rich and thick in body.
Louis Latour Beaune Blanc is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels made at Louis Latour’s own cooperage.
