Louis Latour Cote de Beaune Villages remains one of Maison Louis Latour’s excellent value for money red Burgundies.

The Latour family have long been established in the Burgundy wine trade. They began as vinegrowers in the village of Aloxe-Corton as early as 1768 and went on to establish today’s business, Maison Louis Latour, in 1797. Today they are one of the region’s most famous names creating wines from their own 50 hectare domaine in the Côte d’Or and from grapes and wines purchased through the negociant arm of the business.

The Côte de Beaune Villages appellation is applied exclusively to red wines from 16 communes in the Côte de Beaune including Saint-Aubin, Pernand-Vergelesses and Auxey-Duresses. Maison Louis Latour carefully selects the wines which are the most representative of the appellation: lots of character, intense aromatics and, of course, a long finish.

Louis Latour Cote de Beaune Villages is made with 100% Pinot Noir grapes. The grapes are harvested from vineyards with an average vine age of 25 years old situated on clay and limestone soils. The wine is vinified in the traditional way in open vats. The wine is matured in a combination of stainless steel and oak barrels (medium toasted French oak from Latour’s own cooperage).

Tasting Notes

Louis Latour Cote de Beaune Villages displays intense red fruit and liquorice aromas. The mouth is fresh with blackcurrant and savoury notes on the finish.
