MACK by Mackmyra is a Swedish Single Malt Whisky, it is a new entry point into their fantastic range of Swedish whiskies. It is great in cocktails but can also be served neat or over ice.
Mackmyra Whiskies are produced using Swedish ingedients at the distillery in located in Mackmyra Bruk. Mackmyra was founded by in 1999 by eight classmates from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm with the first commercial whisky coming on stream in 2002. Mackmyra also use newly manufactured Swedish oak casks, made using oak that was planted on the island of Visingsö 160 years ago and intended for use in building warships for the Swedish navy. If you in interested in seeing the effects of Swedish oak, try their Svensk Ek. They also use a lot of small 100-litre casks, which produces an exciting, powerful ageing process The Whisky is aged in the Bodås mine, 50 metres down inside the primary rock.
MACK by Mackmyra is a flavourful whisky with a bright, fresh character and notes of vanilla, pear and citrus. Made by Master Blender Angela D’Orazio, it is aged in American oak with some caramel colouring added. Bottled at 40% ABV.
