Mackmyra Vinterrok Swedish Single Malt Whisky is part of Mackmyra’s fantastic range of limited edition whiskies known as Mackmyra Seasons. As well as Vinterrok (Winter Smoke) the rest of the range includes Blomstertid (Blossom time), Sommartid (Summer Time), Midvinter (Mid Winter), Midnattssol (Midnight Sun) and Iskristall (Ice Crystal). All of these have very unusual cask finishes. Mackmyra was founded by in 1999 by eight classmates from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm with the first commercial whisky coming on stream in 2002. Mackmyra Vinterrok Swedish Single Malt Whisky is a smoky and fruity Swedish whisky which has been aged in American and Swedish oak casks and then finised in casks that has previously held Scotch Strong Ale. The taste is well balanced with a slight saltiness, the texture is medium-thick and oily with a hint of spicy hop.
