Description
Mezan Panama 2008 Vintage Rum is part of the Mezan range of single distillery bottlings.
The idea behind the range is to bring to the consumer the story of the diversity of rum amongst the Caribbean Islands – styles and methods of production, and therefore the rums vary widely. Mezan Panama 2008 Vintage Rum comes from a distillery in Panama which cultivates its own sugar cane for the production of aguardiente and rum. The rums are distinctive soft molasses based rums distilled in modern multi-column stills. As well as cultivating their own sugar cane the distillery also cultivates its own historic yeast cultures which adds character and individuality to the production of their rums. Mezan rums are bottled as natural as possible with no colouring or sweeteners added.
Mezan Panama 2008 Vintage Rum has been aged twice in separate sets of white oak American Bourbon casks, to give added structure to the spirit. After the casks have been selected the rum is bottled non chill-filtered and no colouring, caramel, sugar or other flavourings are added. Pure, untouched rum.
Distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2018 as a 10 year old Rum at 46% ABV. 3 years tropical ageing and 7 years ageing in Europe. 3800 bottles produced.
