Description
Miguel Torres Santa Digna Cabernet Sauvignon Rose is a full bodied and deep-coloured rosé from the Curico Valley.
Miguel Torres was one of the first foreign investors to buy land in Chile attracted by the special climatic conditions of this region. In 1979 Torres purchased one hundred hectares of vineyard and a winery in the Curicó area. With him, Miguel Torres brought his family’s long tradition of wine-making and over one hundred years of company history.Miguel Torres has purchased another two vineyards (‘fundos’) and now owns some three hundred and thirty hectares of vineyard located around Curicó. The name Santa Digna was given to the crosses marking the district boundaries of a land. These crosses served to delimit territories and symbolised good fortune and protection for those who were leaving for other climes.
Compared to more traditional rosés, Miguel Torres Santa Digna Cabernet Sauvignon Rose is a wine of unmistakable personality: original, young and nonconformist. Its stylish charm is the result of careful vinification of the Cabernet Sauvignon variety, during which only a short 4 hour contact is allowed between grape skins and juice. No oak ageing.
This wine is certified Fair Trade under the Fair for Life scheme.
The 2019 is in a limited edition bottle to celebrate Torres Chile’s 40th Anniversary.
