The Montecristo No 4 cigar is part of the very original Montecristo range of cigars, just 5 cigars numbered from 1 to 5. Since then, of course, Montecristo have become one of the most famous of all the Cuban Cigar brands and produce many cigars over a wide range of vitolas.
Montecristo cigars take their name from Alex Dumas’ famous book “The Count of Montecristo” which was a favourite when it was read to the cigar rollers, or Torcedores, whilst they worked. The factory was founded in 1935 and they make two ranges of cigars, the Linea Clasica and the new Open Range. The Clasica range is a classic medium to full bodied range of cigars, whilst the Open range is a little lighter in style.
Montecristo cigars are a perfectly balanced blend of selected tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo which produces a medium to full flavour with a distinguished aroma.
N.B. This cigar is from our humidor and is therefore untubed.
