Montecristo Puritos are a good short smoke and a bit longer than the other Cuban Minis. They classify as a “small cigar”, like the Cuban Minis and the Cohiba Clubs, which is classified as a cigar under 3g in weight. Montecristo Puritos cigars are machine-made, using short-filler tobacco originating from the same region as their other cigars, the Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba, the best tobacco growing land in the world. These have a smart band, do not require cutting and are cellophane wrapped therefore not requiring any humidor storage.
Montecristo is one of the most famous of all the Cuban Cigar brands. It takes its name from Alex Dumas’ famous book “The Count of Montecristo” which was a favourite when it was read to the cigar rollers, or Torcedores, whilst they worked. The factory was founded in 1935 and they make two ranges of cigars, the Linea Clasica and the new Open Range.
Although these are slightly longer than the Cuban Minis they are still a relatively quick some at about 15 to 20 minutes, great for having with a quick coffee, pre-dinner or whenever time is short. They are a good intermediate between a Mini and a full sized cigar and offer some of the proper Cuban cigar experience at a very affordable price.
Packed, 5 cigars in a cardboard outer.
