Pussers Rum Blue Label British Navy Rum 40% 70cl
What old sailor doesn’t love a drop of rum? Pusser’s rum with it Royal Naval connections is an ideal bottle to keep on board. Rum is produced on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands and is named after the Royal Naval Slang for a purser, a ships supply officer. For more than 300 years sailors of the Royal Navy were issued a daily rum ration or “tot”, a highly welcome daily comfort when one was away from home for many months.
Tasting Notes: Good, dark golden colour. The nose is a classic demerara type nose with hints of brown sugar and molasses. There are also smoky, leathery aromas, baking spices (clove, cinnamon) and nice toffee / caramel notes. The palate is full and rich, initially sweet but with a good drying finish. There are rich buttery, creamy and toffee flavours and more spicy cinnamon notes. There is some woody / rancio character, raisin all leading to a long and lingering finish.
