The Quai d’Orsay No 54 cigar was first launched in 2017 in Paris, alongside another new Vitola, the No 50. The No 54 is very similar in size to a Montecristo Edmundo but a fraction wider, a new vitola (called Edmundo Grueso) within the the regular portfolio of Habanos, S.A.
The Quai d’Orsay range of Cuban Cigars was originally created by Habanos SA for the French market. They were initially launched in 1973 and were distributed by SEITA Cigarros, who also distribute Jose L Piedra cigars in France. Quai d’Orsay Cigars draws their inspiration from the elegance and refinement of French culture. The name itself pays homage to the famous street in Paris, Quai d’Orsay, where the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs is located.
Quai d’Orsay No 54 cigars are hand-rolled (“totalmente a mano”) using long-filler tobacco from the famous Vuelta Abajo region wrapped up with a Colorado Claro shade wrapper. These are a great, modern Cuban cigar from a little-known and undervalued brand, full of Gallic charm, perfect for those who prefer a chunkier cigar that is a lighter smoke.
Smoke time around 45 minutes.
N.B. these cigars come from our humidor and are untubed.
Quai d’Orsay No 54 Cigars are known for being one of the softest Cuban cigars with notes of precious woods and honey, vanilla and hazelnut, with an elegant bouquet of dry flowers and a pleasing finish of earthy notes.
