Description

Senorio de Pedraza Tinto Dulce is a sweet red wine from the Extremadura region of Spain. It is bottled as a Vino de la Tierra de Extremadura and is made by Bodegas Soledad.

Bodegas Soledad (or Bodega S. Coop. Ntra. Señora de la Soledad to give its full name) is located next to the Guadiana River, in the region of Tierra de Barros at Aceuchal. The winery is actually a  cooperative which was founded in 1976 with 20 members. Today there are around 800 members of the cooperative. The land here is flat with fertile soils, rich in nutrients and with remarkable capacity for water retention. The vineyards are located at an average altitude of 350 metres above sea level. The climate is dry with very warm summers.

Senorio de Pedraza Tinto Dulce is a blend of Syrah, Merlot and Tempranillo. The grapes undergo a low temprature fermentation and which is stopped early so that the wine retains natural sweetness. Therefore it also has a relatively low alcohol of 10% abv.

Serve With

Although this is great on its own, it could also be served as a dessert wine with chocolate or red berry desserts or various cheeses. It can also be served lightly chilled.

Tasting Notes

Senorio de Pedraza Tinto Dulce has a red / violet colour. The nose has aromas of red and black fruits, blackberry and cherry and candied floral hints. The palate is sweet and fruity but has a good balance and freshness which makes it quite quaffable!
