Description

Seresin Memento Riesling is an off-dry style of riesling produced from organically and biodynamically farmed grapes in the Marlborough region of New Zealand.

The name Seresin might be familiar to you if you have an interest in the film world. Michael Seresin is a world-famous cinematographer most famous for his collaborations with Alan Parker on such films as Bugsy Malone and Midnight Express. He founded Seresin Estate in 1992 and, with their first vintage in 1996, they are celebrating 24 vintages in 2020.

The riesling grapes for the Seresin Memento Riesling come from Seresin’s clay-rich hillside Raupo Creek vineyard, which has a gentle north-west facing aspect, settled in the centre of the Omaka Valley. Each vine is hand-tended throughout the season to create a balanced canopy and optimise fruit quality. Certified organic grapes were hand-picked and whole-bunch-pressed to retain purity of fruit characters. After pressing, the juice was allowed to gently settle, before being naturally fermented with wild yeast at low temperatures until the perfect balance between sweetness and acidity was achieved.

Seresin Memento Riesling is certified organic and biodynamically grown. It is also suitable for vegetarians and vegans. No dairy products or eggs are used during production.
