Description

St Germain Elderflower Liqueur is made by Maison St Germain in France. The brand was created in 2007 by Robert Cooper of Coopers Spirits Co in New York, led by third-generation distiller Robert Cooper, they are probably must famous for the creation of Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur. After a visit to London in 2002 Cooper noticed many bartenders were using non-alcoholic elderflower cordials in their recipes and immediately spotted a gap in the market for an alcoholic Elderflower liqueur. Since 2013 the brand has been owned by Bacardi Ltd. however, this is very much an artisanal liqueur. The Elderflower blossom is handpicked from elder bushes in the French Alps and the window for picking these small white blossoms is a brief few weeks. The elderflower blossom is macerated in a neutral grape spirits within a day or two of being picked, it is then sweetened with sugar and bottled at 20% abv., of course, the exact process is a secret!

St Germain Elderflower Liqueur is presented in a very distinctive, very stylish, eight-sided art deco bottle with a heavy stopper. Each bottle is also is also individually numbered and marked with the vintage year.
