Teeling Spirit of Dublin Irish Poitin is the first commercially available spirit to be released from the newly opened Teeling Whiskey Distillery. The Teeling Whiskey Company have set out to make a modern, high quality Poitin in an effort to reinvigorate the original spirit of Ireland.
Teeling Spirit of Dublin Irish Poitin is made from 100% Irish Barley, 50% malted and 50% malted, and is triple distilled in Teeling’s three traditional copper pot stills, named Alison, Natalie and Rebecca respectively. It is bottled straight from the still but the grain spirit, which is milder and mellower than the malt spirit, means the Teeling Poitin is quite palatable neat even though it is bottled at 52.5%. This first batch consists of 10,000 bottles.
This isn’t your grandfather’s poitin! It is a user friendly, mellow, clean and soft spirit. It makes an excellent base for all sorts of cocktails and can be used instead of a vodka, or gin in a poitin and tonic.
