Terrazas de los Andes Malbec is 100% Malbec made from hand harvested grapes sourced from select estate vineyards located in Las Compuertas (planted in 1929, this is the company’s oldest and most prestigious parcel), Paraje Altamira and Uco Valley.

Terrazas de los Andes was established in 1992 by Chandon Argentina, which was itself established by Champagne Moet et Chandon as their Argentine wine project in 1960. Terrazas produce superb premium wines from some of the world’s highest vineyards. The winery has been named after the terraces situated at different altitudes upon which the vines are grown. Based on over 47 years of research and experimentation with local microclimates and terrain, each selected terrace has been matched with a unique varietal to express its maximum potential. Within these unique microclimates, Terrazas de los Andes presents a range of wines that offer great fruit concentration and varietal character.

Terrazas de los Andes Selection Malbec is made from 100% Malbec sourced from vineyards at an altitude of 1070 metres. The high altitude means warm, sunny days for grapes to flourish, followed by cold nights that slow down their ripening. It also limits acidity. The vineyards range in age from 20 to 80 years old and can be flood or drip irrigated. After vinification the wine is aged for 12 to 14 months in a combination of first, second, third and fourth fill French oak barrels prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes

Terrazas de los Andes has an intense red colour with purple hues. The wine has a noticeable floral character – reminiscent of violets – which is supported by aromas of red and black fruits, with delicate notes of chocolate and tobacco. It is aromatic and fresh on the palate, this wines tannins are well structured yet pleasantly soft.

Serve With

Terrazas de los Andes Malbec with rich red meats. Try with goat ribs with a side of black garlic and cauliflower, or a classic grilled fillet steak. It also pairs well with a rich and nutty hard cheese, such as Manchego or Parmesan.
