Torres Natureo is a low alcohol rose wine made in Spain. It is made from Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Torres Natureo wines are the result of much research and this wine is very much at the forefront of high-quality de-alcoholised wines available today. According to Torres, this wine has “less than 0.0% alcohol and less than half the calories of a normal wine.”
The Torres family has been making wine in the ancient Catalán town of Vilafranca del Penedès, south-west of Barcelona, since the 17th Century. It is tradition combined with innovation, dynamism, sustainability and commitment to quality that has put Torres firmly on the world map. It is no surprise that Torres Wines have been working on low alcohol wine for many years, since 2008 in fact. In 2006 Torres were awarded European Winery of the Year in Wine Enthusiast’s Annual Wine Star Awards.
Torres Natureo Rose begins life like a normal wine. Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are harvested and undergo a brief 24 hour period of maceration with skin contact. The wine then undergoes alcoholic fermentation in temperature controlled vats for 15 to 20 days at 16 to 18C. After this the wine then undergoes a de-alcoholisation process. Only the alcohol is removed from this Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon blend, thus preserving the full aroma and flavours of the wine.
This wine is also vegetarian and vegan friendly.
