Tosolini GinT Italian Dry Gin is made by the famous Friulian Grappa producer Bepi Tosolini. Not surprisingly, as they are in the Grappa business, this is made with a grape based spirit, rather than grain and is therefore a gluten free gin.
The history of Tosolini begins after World War II, when Bepi Tosolini dedicated himself to perfecting the art of Grappa production. Located at the foot of the eastern Friulian hills, Tosolini’s modern facility maintains its original installations and ensures the authenticity of its product. The art inspired by Bepi Tosolini lives on in his successors, now third-generation distillers. His son Giovanni, along with his grandchildren Giuseppe, Bruno and Lisa, now carry on the Tosolini legacy. As well as their fantastic Grappa, they also make fantastic liqueurs including a great Limoncello and their Amaretto. As a company that is always moving forward it is not surprising that they should eventually release a gin.
Tosolini GinT Italian Dry Gin, as mentioned, with a grape based spirit. Being based on grape rather than grain neutral spirit seems to add body and faint sweetness to this classically styled yet subtly herbal dry gin. The specially selected botanicals in GinT include Friulian Juniper berries from the Adriatic coast with Moscato grapes, Coriander seeds, Angelica root, mace, vanilla pods and sweet Orange peels. It is crafted using pure water from the Italian Alps and distilled in small batched in alembic pot stills that were produced in 1955.
Tosolini GinT Italian Dry Gin is presented in a very smart looking blue glass bottle decorated with grapes and vines.
