Valdeorite Lar de Barros Tempranillo is a red wine made by Bodegas Valdeorite. It is bottled under the Ribera Del Guadiana DO which is the main Denominación de Origen in the Spanish region of Extremadura. The Ribera del Guadiana DO was created relatively recently in 1999 and covers 6 sub-zones.
Bodegas Valdeorite is the brainchild of Don Manuel López Morenas and was founded with the premise of making quality wines in a region well-known for mass-productions of cheap wines. The modern winery is equipped with modern technology and equipment and, under the watchful eye of world-renowned oenologist Ignacio González, tradition and modernity combine to create some of the best wine that Extremadura has to offer.
Valdeorite Lar de Barros is 100% Tempranillo and is bottled as a “joven” (young wine). It is aged for a short time in new barrels.
Try with most meat dishes, broth rice, sausages and ham.
Valdeorite Lar de Barros Tempranillo has a purple red colour. The nose has aromas of ripe red fruits, plums and liquorice. There are also chocolate and mocha notes. The palate is big and fruity with more plummy red fruit and soft tannins.
