Vegueros Centrofinos Cigars are the third addition to the Vegueros range of cigars after the Mananitas and Entretiempos. The Centrofinos is a unique size within the Habanos portfolio, measuring 5⅛” (130mm) x 50 ring gauge.
The brand is named after the Vegueros (the farmers or tobacco growers) of the Vuelta Abajo zone. Traditionally in the Pinar del Rio province the Vegueros would also make their own cigars to give away to visitors. The brand is a tribute to the generations of tobacco farmers in this region.
The cigars are made at the “Francisco Donatien” factory in a sturdy building located in the centre of the city that was built as a prison in 1868 and converted into a cigar factory in 1961. The brand was discontinued in 2012 and then relaunched with new packaging in 2013.
These are a great Cuban cigar from a little-known and undervalued brand. The tobacco is all sourced from the premium Vuelta Abajo region and they are medium strength cigars.
‘Centro Fino’ is a classification for the leaves of the sun-grown tobacco plant harvested from around mid-way up the plant. These generally produce Seco leaves and are used in the blend of a Havana cigar for their natural aromatic qualities.
N.B. these cigars come from our humidor and are untubed.
Smoke time around 45 minutes.
