Description
Williams Chase En Provence Jolie Rose is bottled under the Cote de Provence Appellation d’Origine Protege (AOC). It is the estate’s top rose wine, a richer more complex and oaked wine compared to its little brother, the Willams Chase En Provence Rose.
Domaine Chase has grown rapidly over recent years and the estate is now spread over 20 hectares of vineyards across the prestigious appellations of the Coteaux Varois en Provence and the Côtes de Provence. Under the supervision of Chief winemaker Dale Clarke this flagship rose wine was first released in 2017.
The grapes for the Williams Chase En Provence Jolie Rose are sourced from a small parcel of 45 year old Côtes de Provence classified vines at Domaine Chase. It is a blend of Syrah and Cinsault. The grapes are hand harvested in the early hours of the morning, pressed and then allowed a very short period of skin contact. 60% of the blend is fermented in new Burgundy barrels and the remaining 40% undergoes traditional fermentation in stainless steel. Controlled malolactic fermentation enhances the complexity of the wine both in flavour and texture. Bottling takes place after 10 months of ageing on site at the Domaine.
The name “Jolie” translates as “pretty” in French.
