We were very honoured to have a wine tasting and dinner hosted by Sabrina Tedeschi. The event was completely sold out, a testament to the reputation of the Tedeschi Wines. The evening began with an enlightening introduction and talk from Sabrina Tedeschi @mariasabrinatedeschi, who passionately shared insights into the winemaking process and the history of the Tedeschi family.

There was a pre dinner wine tasting of four wines including their superb Ripasso and the excellent Tedeschi La Fabriseria Valpolicella DOC Classico Superiore. A brand new Pinot Grigio paired with the starter – a delicate pumpkin and sage flavoured ravioli. The wine, with its refreshing acidity and subtle fruit notes, beautifully complemented the earthy mushroom and sage flavours of the ravioli.
The main course was a classic Osso Buco, a slowly braised veal shank with vegetables. This hearty dish was paired with two different Amarone wines, allowing guests to compare and contrast their unique characteristics. The Tedeschi ‘Marne 180’ Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG presented a rich and complex profile, while the limited edition ‘Ansari’ Amarone offered a unique blend of flavours, reflecting the personal touch of the three Tedeschi siblings (my favourite wine of the night). The dessert course was an almond and black cherry tart, served warm with pistachio ice cream. The sweetness of the tart was beautifully balanced by the Tedeschi Capitel Fontana Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG Classico.

There was lots of positive feedback and Lysses House Hotel, and their staff, helped put on a very successful event.

A massive thank you to Sabrina for showing us her family’s fabulous wine. Please come again!
